On our way to Washington D.C. we stopped by Gettysburg. There were lots of statues and monuments and stuff.
After Gettysburg, we drove to Washington D.C. Our first day there we walked around a lot of the monuments. We saw the Washington Monument

and the Lincoln Memorial,
the Vietnam Memorial, the WW2 Memorial.
We walked over to the White House, but we only saw the capitol from a distance.
The second day we went to the Smithsonian. We went to the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the statue garden and the Natural History Museum. The museums were huge. There was way too much to see. We all agreed you could spend a whole day in the Natural History Museum. I could have spent the whole day in the Written in Bone exhibit. Then we went to Arlington. We saw the changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknowns, and saw the changing of the wreaths. It was really cool. After Arlington we saw the Iwo Jima Memorial.
