After Gettysburg, we drove to Washington D.C. Our first day there we walked around a lot of the monuments. We saw the Washington MonumentIMG_0421 0611111815aday9DC (47)and the Lincoln Memorial, 0611111955the Vietnam Memorial, the WW2 Memorial.day9DC (37)0611111857 We walked over to the White House, but we only saw the capitol from a distance.

The second day we went to the Smithsonian. We went to the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the statue garden and the Natural History Museum. The museums were huge. There was way too much to see. We all agreed you could spend a whole day in the Natural History Museum. I could have spent the whole day in the Written in Bone exhibit. Then we went to Arlington. We saw the changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknowns, and saw the changing of the wreaths. It was really cool. After Arlington we saw the Iwo Jima Memorial.IMG_0429
